Kids n Keys

A Kids Music Program in a Keyboard Learning Lab

For kids age 4½ to 7 years

Held in a fun-filled musical keyboard/computer lab, our Kids n Keys program, provides a child’s first formal exposure to the fundamentals of music. Kids n Keys is an ideal bridge between the musical play of Tunes n Tots and the beginning of private music lessons. Exposure to music supports both cognitive and intuitive foundations for musical growth Kids n Keys builds on the social and playful environment of Tunes n Tots while introducing children to the concepts, visual symbols and sounds that form the basis of musical literacy. As they do when learning a language, children absorb musical ideas naturally. Our B2R Kids programs help children become life long learners in music.

Limited to six children, these classes include a series of structured musical games. Individual keyboard stations include an electronic piano and computer. In our B2R Kids programs, children play songs by ear, number, and sight, and have their first exposure to the musical staff. Such computer programs as MusicAce, Making Music©, and Super Duper Music Looper also help develop music literacy.

The skills and intuitive understanding developed in the Kids n Keys lab prepare a child to begin the study of a musical instrument as well as group playing.
