Meet Audrey

Audrey Albright has been working for B2R Kids since April 08. While her degree from VA Tech is in art, she has an extensive musical background. She began piano lessons at age 6, voice lessons at age 10, and has been involved in many music and musical theater productions from a young age up through college. She is currently involved in two active rock bands and teaches all ages, from 15 months to adult. Some of her instruments of instruction include: hand drums, bells, rhythm sticks, keys, guitar and vocals.

Audrey is an enthusiastic teacher who enjoys demonstrating a variety of methods to encompass a broad understanding of all facets of music. If a student has trouble understanding rhythm, pitch, or dynamics, she finds several ways to explain and exemplify these techniques. She believes that each student has a different learning style and these should all be explored. Along with her love for a variety of teaching techniques, Audrey is a firm believer in a well rounded knowledge of music genres as well. Some of her favorite bands/artists include:
The Beatles, Led Zepplin, Buena Vista Social Club, Aerosmith, Muse, the Decemberists, Queen, Tchaikovsky, Brahms, Andrew Lloyd Webber, and many more.

At her commencement from UT, she had the opportunity to sing in a trio for 10,000+ people, which was exciting!

Meredith has extensive experience working with children as an Early Childhood Education Intern at Guilford College United Methodist Church and the Kid's Camp Intern at the Eastern Music Festival. My 8 year old son, who was never really a musical instrument lover, now loves his drum lessons. The teachers are wonderful and relate very well to the kids.
